报告摘要：This report will discuss the profound relation existing in quantum mechanics between the possibility to distinguish neighboring quantum states and entanglement. The tool introduced to discuss this problem is the Fisher information. This framework encompasses quantum technologies, like metrology and interferometric phase estimations, as well as foundational problems ranging from the quantum Zeno dynamics to Bell nonlocality up to the characterization of topological quantum phase transitions.
报告人简介：Augusto Smerzi is a research director at the National Institute of Optics, National Research Council (CNR-INO) and a theory-group leader at the Center of Quantum Science and Technology in Arcetri (QSTAR), Italy. After his PhD, obtained from University of Catania, Italy, he spent a post doc at University of Urbana-Champaign, USA, and he has been a consultant and long term visitor staff member at Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA. Dr. Augusto Smerzi has an international reputation in many scientific areas such as Bose-Einstein condensation, quantum interferometry, and entanglement. His most recent interests focus on entanglement-enhanced quantum technologies. He has published more than 150 papers, including 4 Science, 1Rev. Mod. Phys.,1 Nat. Phys., 1 PNAS, 3 Nat. Commun., and 33 Phys. Rev. Lett., with more than 7600 citations and H-index being 47.His paper [Science 293, 843 (2001)] has been cited in the “Scientific Background on the Nobel Prize in Physics 2016” compiled by the Class for Physics of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. His is a reviewer for the international journals, including Science, Nature, Nat. Phys., PNAS, and Phys. Rev. Lett.
