Dr. Sven Ahrens will talk about relativistic quantum dynamics of electrons in strong laser fields, which are obtained by solving the Dirac equation. Emphasis is given on the electron spin dynamics, when the electron interacts with a standing wave laser beam. Also, the backreaction on the photons is addressed by an analysis of Compton scattering. To the end Dr. Sven Ahrens will also present considerations on the deflection of X-ray superradiance in the earth gravitational field.


Dr. Sven Ahrens received Bachelor (2006) and Master (2008) degree from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany and he graduated at the Max-Planck-Institute for Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg, Germany in 2012. He then joined the Intense Laser Physics Group at the Illinois State University in the USA in 2013 and continued his postdoctoral career at the Beijing Computational Science Research Center in Beijing, China until now. He has published many papers in Phys. Rev. Lett., Nature Photonics, Phys. Rev. A and in other peer reviewed journals.
